Moonspell @ Principal - Thessaloniki

\r\nSaturday 24/1/2009, 20:00 sharp and I was standing outside the Principal Hall. In front of the entrance already 10 teenagers, from Drama and Katerini, had been patiently waiting for to door to open. The doors opened at 20:30 and in no time I found myself in front of the stage, against the point were Fernando stood after some hour.
\r\n
\r\nThe show started at 22:00 sharp with Darkrya, the support band. Dakrya combines symphonic and black metal, for more info http://www.myspace.com/dakrya. The guys, after a 13 hour trip to Thessaloniki, did their best to warm us up with their great performance... and they achieved it. However, their sound was bad. The guitars were to loud and their high distortion made things worse. The keyboards could not be listened to at all, and the two female vocalists had to scream in order to be listened. But no matter what, I am going to say it again, their performance was great.\r\n

\r\nAfter Dakrya, we had to wait again once more for Moonspell, but it fully worth it. Their appearance during the whole show was bombastic, full of passion, energy and accompanied by video wall projection. The crowd perfectly reciprocated to the band’s callings, sang with band, headbanged and there were some mosh pits, where necessary .  Also the sound was excellent. \r\n

\r\nThey started with Tragic Heights and there were some stage bonuses, if I could name them like that. The first one was the presence of Mari Angela to sing with Fernando Scorpion Flower and Luna and the second was that Luna was played for the first time in Greece. The crowd literally exploded during Everything Invaded, Opium, Vampiria and Alma Mater.  Their encore was one of the longest I have ever faced. 6 songs...almost one third of a concert, but I liked it, I really liked it.\r\n

\r\n
\r\nIn conclusion, yesterday the concert was a concert full of lust. Moonspell, fully recovered after the last concert in Munchen, offered to their fans an aggressive performance, with a view to make them leave the place pleased and satisfied, and they knew how to do it. Bravo Moonspell!
