Some of us (including me) think that Finland is a country that is a leading force when it comes to Gothic Metal bands and that is definitely more than just a reputation. But it seems that Bloodride are here to cry out that Finnish bands can Thrash as well the old school way, and by the term old school I mean exactly that. Influenced by mostly American bands like Testament and Slayer along with a great dose of Destruction’s nerve and raw power, Bloodride unleash hell with their first full length release “Crowned In Hell” delivering an album suitable for endless head banging! Songs like “Straight From Hell” and “Slave Of Evil” urge you to open a moshpit even in the middle of your room while some mid tempo tracks like the groovy “Cain” are here just to save you from suffering severe neck damage!
The production is powerful boosting the songs into sounding even more aggressive while the band sounds solid and skilful but while listening to “crowned In Hell” that will be the least of your concern. After all it’s Thrash metal we’re talking about coming from a country that specializes to dark and gloomy sounds and not to the raw power and uncompromising attitude that Thrash metal stands for.
Well I think that Bloodride got what it takes to thrash and they clearly prove that with their debut album. If they keep up the hard work I’m damn sure we’ll hear from them again in the future!
