At last, the new album by the Greece’s Septicflesh is a fact. This is the sixth album of the band, the first after their historical reunion. The “Communion” album is recorded at Fredman Studios, Sweden and features nine dark, symphonic and brutal anthems, the way that only Septicflesh could compose and perform.
Chris “Gothic Maestro” Antoniou used his amazing orchestration ability once again and with the help of 80-part full orchestra plus 32-part choir of Philarmonic orchestra of Prague, created a delirious symphonic death metal effort that many of the classic horror soundtrack composers would envy,
Besides the “Symphonic” part of the album, in “Communion” we can hear also the classic Septicflesh sound that we all have admire in the past. It’s a fact that Septicflesh owns the ability of transforming their music from blast beat death metal, to very atmospheric compositions, due too Chris and Sotiris’ unique guitar melodic lines, that in “Communion” reminds of their previous releases like “Revolution DNA” and even “Esoptron”
The trademark vocals of Seth as well as the unique clean vocals of Sotiris are beyond any comment; the use of these vocals during the album is also one of the septicflesh classic elements. The compositions of “Communion” are very unique without making the listeners feel bored not even for a second, and from my personal experience the more you hear “Communion” the more you get addicted to it. The “new” member of septicflesh, Fotis seems to have already understood the music of Septicflesh, thus his playing sound so septicflesh-isque.
I really cannot pick any track of the album as the best one, because every single track stands as a unique track by itself like the epic death metal holocaust “Lovecraft’s Death”, or the tracks “Annubis”, “Sunlight Moonlight” and “Sangreal” that in my opinion only the voice of Sotiris is enough to make them unique, or even the track “Narcissus” with the “Goblin” elements.
The fact is that the greatest extreme metal band of Europe will release an album that will be equal to its quality and history. Presonally I could wait not only 5 years for this comeback…. The Dreamlords Have Retuned!!!

P.S. Check dates and locations of the Septicflesh Tour
