Grantig - So Muss Es Sein

Grantig - So Muss Es Sein

\r\nGrantig is a German band and this is their debut album. Their music can be described as a mixture of thrash metal with hard core influences while at the same time the listener may recognize a latent Black Sabbath structure with the casualness of the modern heavy sound. Or in other words: If Pro Pain, Black Label Society and Pantera would meet and make an album and wrote everything down in German words then the whole result approximately should sound like this effort. The songs are high-energetic with more important the focus on the rhythm work and monstrous guitar walls and with some surprising shots of blues like in track "Reflexion" or "Immer Wieder". The easy thrash-like riffing is united with the crude pressureful drumming and the songs move to a large extent within the faster speed range, partly by the wonderful accenting on the guitar scales which are straight-lined and riff-stressed. The bass remains appropriate in the background and leaves to the remaining instruments the majority of the advantages that their sound is putting through. The only drawback is that at some point the songs seem to repeat themselves despite some incorporated calmer moments but other that this is a really interesting piece of work from those Germans. Not groundbreaking but enjoyable. \r\n
