Hazzerd - Delirium

Illuminated Truth

Hazzerd from Canada is no stranger to the world of thrash. In 2017, they released their debut “Misleading Evil” which was great. Those who believed then that this band has great potential and that they have all the background to stand out in the thrash area, will be verified by Calgary’s thrashers second work.

The band delivers a beautiful and classic thrash sound which doesn’t copy other bands, but if we were compelled to be make comparisons, their sound is like a very successful and original blend of Nuclear Assault, Annihilator and Megadeth - the earliest periods of these bands of course. The majority of the tracks is fast and wild thrash, but they give to the listener some breathing space and do not choke him with the familiar thrash atmosphere often found in the genre. That is to say, there are melodies in their songs, clever changes, which along with classic thrash speeds, create very interesting compositions with intense musicality - that is, we do not have a record just for headbanging.

Delirium” sounds (and is) almost classic. If Hazzerd weren't afraid to develop their songs and ideas a bit, some of their compositions would have the level of the well-known 80's thrash anthems - maybe the band is afraid that longer in time songs will be tiresome. On the contrary, their ideas are amazing and unfortunately some of these ideas are cut short. Even so, the album is very entertaining, it has thrash anthems like the incredible "A Tormented Reality", and it truly sounds like one of the best unknown classic thrash albums of the 80's.

This album is a gift to the fans of old-fashioned thrash, who will be amazed and thrilled that there are still bands playing such a good thrash metal music, which is old-school, but it comes out fresh, without the band sounding tiring or boring. Although pure thrash, the album is easily aimed at the whole range of heavy metal fans who adore that classic American heavy metal scene, which covers all bands from Metallica to Metal Church.
