\r\nNORWEGIAN DEATH METAL\r\n

\r\n

\r\nNorwegian Deathsters , -Horizon Ablaze- are playing Death Metal since 2008. In 2009 the band released their first EP and now two years after they are ready with their very first full length album.\r\n

\r\n

\r\nThe new album is named, -Spawn- and it’s an interesting album that combines Death Metal with many atmospheric passages and keyboards. Nice riffs, great leads, very good bass, good drumming and the voice of Stian in a nice Death Metal mood. The production is good and so is the cover artwork of the album.\r\n

\r\nΜelodic death metal has kept a solid fan base although the years of its heyday(Gates of Ishtar, Dark Tranquillity) have been long dead and gone. Its influence in today’s metal scene has been filtered and evolved into something else with the term "core" attached to its end. Just by looking at the band’s promo photoshooting I made I quick guess that this is the case once again. I was wrong.

Karnak Seti plays melodic thrash/death metal and even if their name reminds of Egypt culture they are truly from a nice island of Portugal. These guys self released "Scars of Your Decay" in 2009 but after that Casket Music signed them to officialy release their debut work in 2010.

\r\n I’ll turn into a bitch from the very begining. Why do some stuck to the part where they WANT to play death metal instead of actually doing so? Where’s the brutality, the darkness, the aggression? It wouldn’t matter if you’re supposed to be playing NWOSDM but what do you do when the songs are so indifferent?

\r\nThe underground has always been the source for real music and true artistic expression. There is nothing predetermined there, no "must" or guided artistry. And that is where Peshmerga come out from and having Sevared Records backing them up release their short(only 7 songs) yet meaningfully crammed debut.

\r\nLeading a steady route through the years, mainly in the background, Before The Dawn hit us back with a new release to move a step further on the path of gothic/death metal. Those of you who have seen the band on stage probably were not stuck to the wall..truth is the band dwells in the shadows of the mighty Amorphis and other monsters of the genre but what they offer is something well served.

Fir Bolg is an one man band and "they" play traditional pagan black metal. "Paganism" is a
\r\nrelease printed in 500 limited edition copies. Dagoth, who is the man behind the music
\r\nwrote some tracks for a demo back in 2006, he then printed this in 500 copies in 2008 and
\r\nfinally German label Schwarzdorn Records signed him in 2009 and re-released this, to have a
\r\nbetter promotion of the band. That’s about their background.
