Οtargos - No God, No Satan

Οtargos - No God, No Satan

\r\nOtargos come from France and offer us their fourth release after only 9 years of existence. The band has also released quite a few demos, they’ve been productive the least to say. Quite busy but also quite effective as it proves. French black metal gains yet another diamond, to decorate its collection. This musical interest that bands from France tend to put out is present here too, no tendency for conventional forms. No interest in bittersweet recipes.

\r\n It is always a personal joy seeing bands trying to build their own sound and eventually succeeding in it. Otargos blast their way through or get slow and painful where they please. Those unique guitar breaks in Cloning The Divine and Ι, Blood Of Satan are fine examples of their desire to create something new, fresh and extremely aggressive. They put out tons of hatred both musically and lyrically and that can be seen throughout "No God, No Satan". Long song durations don’t tire the listener as the band’s composition skills are coherent and flawless. They easily manage to express darkness and annihilation through atmospheric parts and aggression simultaneously and without trying too hard.
\r\n
\r\n All this is filtered through a production that is both clean and dirty enough to give the right touch to the result. Don’t think of this like it’s coming from the norwegian scene, or relate it to grimness and epic mood. These guys are nothing like it, they walk their own misanthropic path. Whoever pleases himself in trying new things within the extreme spectrum will find lots to devour in Otargos’ new album. Quality, extremity, abyss. Do not be afraid to sink in.\r\n
