Accept - Blood Of The Nations

\r\nIf in the future someone asks me “how do you thing a reunion album should sound” I won’t hesitate to answer “It should sound like Accept’s Blood Of The Nations”!! It’s not exaggeration to say that this one is already the benchmark for all the reunion albums out there. I personally think that this is by far their best release since “Russian Roulette” (ok “Eat the Heat” is an exception to the rule) while Udo’s absence on the vocals is not something noticeable. Well some may complain “c’mon, an Accept reunion album without Udo?”, I don’t blame them, I was complaining about the same thing too when I heard of the release of “Blood Of The Nations” but after listening to the first two tracks (they were more than enough) I bit my poisonous tongue and all my doubts were gone at once! So besides Udo, who’s replaced by Mark Tornillo (lead singer of “TT Quick”) that sounds exactly like Udo 20 years ago, the rest of the team is assembled, ready an willing to take on the world of Metal, something pretty obvious on “Blood Of The Nations” since it contains all these elements that made Accept one of the best German Heavy Metal bands back in the 80’s. Fiery riffing, mind blowing solos and catchy melodies and the notorious “gang vocals”…they are all back!
\r\nWhen Wolf Hoffmann and Peter Baltes decided to jam on some heavy riffing just for the fun of it, I bet that they couldn’t even imagine that they’ll create this masterpiece! You can take my honest word for it, songs like "Teutonic Terror",  "Blood of the Nations", "Locked and Loaded" and "Pandemic" could easily be put among the masterpieces of the past (you all know what I mean..) something that shows that inspiration an excitement for Metal hasn’t abandoned this gang despite the merciless passing of time and if this is not a proof for the power of Metal and it’s everlasting spirit, then what is it?
\r\nIf we add to the whole Andy Sneap’s amazing production then we can state that we’re talking about an excellent album. An album that I am sure fans of Accept will love. As for Udo’s absence…one thing is sure, after listening to the album, won’t bother you. Already among the best releases of the year!
