Aeon Aphelion - Aeon Aphelion

The Athenian outfit Aeon Aphelion I have to admit that is the pleasant surprise that hit my ears this month. The self titled demo cd release left me one hundred per cent satisfied, with this “raw” doom metal sound of them, a sound that flirts with early Cathedral sound plus some death metal passages. So this is about classic doom metal riffing, brutal vocals, some female vocals also exist on this demo, but without any exaggeration.
\r\nTheir sound is solid and well bounded, their compositions are well structured and very interesting, so this is all I need to characterize this demo as a small doom metal “diamond” , and for sure I would recommend every doom metal fan out there to get hold of it, but your first move should be to visit these guys myspace site to get a taste of their music.
