All Out War - Into The Killing Fields

All Out War - Into The Killing Fields

\r\n All Out War are considered one of the most influential bands in the whole metalcore/deathcore thing and perhaps not for nothing since they’ve been doing their thing for the last 20 years. Surely a lot more time than most bands of the genre. So, for the last 2 decades AOW have been releasing music, I think it’s a general question: do they have anything to offer in 2011? In my opinion, not much...
\r\n
\r\n..Not that this means it’s all bad or badly performed. The album enters the house quite furiously with classic, yet well played themes. Full on double bass, heavy riffs with Slayer-ish tales and thick, intense groove. So far, so good. The only different thing you recieve till the end of the album is the number in front of every new track. You’re given the impression you listen to the same song over and over again. You have to be a blindfolded fan to make yourself believe this is something more that a "golden" mediocrity. And again: it is not lame, you’d expect them to offer something stronger in terms of composition, based in their experience. But this is not tha case..
\r\n
\r\n There’s really not much to say about "Into The Killing Fields", even its production is generic. Clean, powerful yet nothing different from the mass. If you’re ok with the repeatition issues and you’re swimming deep in the waters of metalcore this album will barely keep you to the surface. From the moment newer bands can deliver more there’s no reason why young kids should not take it from now on.\r\n
