Ancient Bards - The Alliance of the Kings

\r\nAncient Bards were formed only a couple of years ago. It all begun on 2007 by their keyboardist, Daniele Mazza, and a year later they finished their first demo, which contained 5 tracks, based on the Final Fantasy concept. On 2009 they played as support act with various bands such as Domine, Turisas, White Skull and on summer the begun working on their debut album, “The Alliance of the Kings”.
\r\nNow let’s get to the point. Ancient Bards come from Italy and their compositions are very much influenced by Rhapsody. Sara Squadrani, their singer, has a good voice and her performance is good as well and it may remind you a lot of Epica and Nightwish vocals.
\r\nDespite of these good points, though, they don’t make any difference and this album is just a mediocre. Sara’s voice is intense and has dynamics, alright; however the cd is nothing new, nothing but another Symphonic Power Metal one. \r\n
