Apocalyptica - 7th symphony

Apocalyptica - 7th symphony

\r\nThe truth is that when they begun as a tribute band I was a bit doubtful about them. Okay, it’s cool to cover songs, but making a carreer based on them is not that interesting in my opinion, and I’m being sceptical when it comes to this. However, the fact that Apocalyptica could play in a heavy way by only using their cellos seemed unreal. Heavy sounds and feeling, through a different perspective and approach; yes, that sets a new basis in metal music.
\r\nSo, this is the seventh creation of the band, entitled “7th Symphony”. Apart from the instrumental compositions, there are also songs with lyrics. In addition, there are many guests, and their input makes each song really special: Gavin Rossdale (Bush), Brent Smith (Shinedown), Lacey Mosley (Flyleaf), Joe Duplantier (Gojira) and Dave Lombardo (Slayer, Grip Inc, Phantomas, Testament). The songs that contain lyrics are pretty mainstream, but that isn’t a disadvantage at all. Actually some of them are among the best compositions of the album. For instance, the song “End of Me”, which is also the first video released from the album, and “Broken Pieces” will stick to your mind. It’s just that they may appeal to fans of Rock music in general, and not only to fans of Metal music. The rest of the tracks are dark, with gloomy and heavy atmosphere, while they are not complicated, their structure is clear and there are intense emotional changes in them. All the album, as anyone would expect, is based on cellos. Apocalyptica have done such a great work with them, proving that they belong to their own music genre.
