ARCANE - Beyond the Sea

ARCANE - Beyond the Sea

\r\nProbably, most metal fans are sick and tired of the label “symphonic metal” when it comes a newly formed band with female vocals. However, taking for granted that this scene keeps expanding anyway, it’s all a matter of personal taste in music, regardless of the music genre; each band, should be considered as a unique presence in the world of metal, instead of being a part of the mass.
\r\nThis is the first cd coming from ARCANE and it contains three songs. Isa García is on the vocals and her work both on opera-like and more atmospheric and rock vocal lines (that I prefer the most) is really nice. Her style is very close to Simone Simons and Tarja, actually. Τhe vocals section pretty much addresses the music orientation of the band as the songs are based on Power Metal forms with plenty of symphonic elements. However, they are far from becoming cliché and they have an intense progressive background, which reminds prog/power metal bands rather than female fronted-symphonic metal ones. If the rest of the album contains such good compositions, well this band is very promising for the future. \r\n
