Breach The Void - The Monochromatic Era

\r\nBreach The Void comes from Switzerland and “The Monochromatic Era” is their debut album. Their drummer, Alex Anxionna, who was previously in Sybreed, is the founding member of the band and it seems that his “past” activity has influenced Breach The Void a lot.
\r\nThe so inaccurate and general term “Modern Metal” keeps gaining ground, as it can be found very often on the info sheet of the new releases. In most cases, it’s based more or less on the same “recipe” with a few small changes each time: sharpy riffs, melodic death-oriented guitars, “brutal” vocals and catchy melodic chosuses, “plastic” production, pseudo industrial inputs and various effects. So far so good someone might say, but most of the times all these bands lack feeling.
\r\nBreach The Void follow the same path by creating this album, which is nothing new and nothing more than a mediocre. Apart from the typical playing, a great disadvantage is the vocals section; they should be more aggressive in order to fit the band’s music. In addition, the album sounds as if it comes straight from a computer program, so there’s no nerve or energy at all.
