Calm Hatchery - Sacrilege of Humanity

\r\nΤhere is nothing more satisfactory than the surprise caused by a new coming band(even though this is their second release) and its destructive force. This "hey, I discovered them!" feeling and the following pride are enough to make you boast you like a rooster among chickens. But the music itself is braindevouring food!

\r\n And when I hear though the first seconds and the clarity of the sound the whole thing goes to a modern death metal approach, which kinda bothered me. I think the genre has had its moments and the truly good material can be counted on a chopped hand’s fingers. Trigger The Bloodshed and The Red Shore are cool enough but end up tiresome after a few songs. Such aweful thoughts crossed my mind those few seconds but as time flew and the album went on my mind had a 180* turn!

\r\n For starters, Calm Hatchery hail from Poland, I think that says a lot! So, despite of the crisp sound(finally making a point!) this is where a brutal lover finds refuge. The guys love modern metal yet add in elements from the mighty Morbid Angel aesthetics(slimmy riffs, atmosphere) but even more they’ve taken lessons from New Yorkers Immolation and their view of things. What we get in our hands is one of the best albums of 2010 by far. It’s truly a shame they haven’t got the attention of a larger crowd, they surely deserve it. Not only they lack nothing compared to bigger bands but also outrun most of them with their top quality material. Everything is in balance here, brutality, technical skills and above all: passion!

\r\n There is a great sense of fluency, it’s not just riff after riff, the guys appart from being skilled players, know how to compose music with impact. Great guitar leads, incredible low growls and fresh ideas everywhere! There are even solos with meaning and atmosphere unlike Necrophagist styled note-storming, making Sacrilege of Humanity an awesome release. I will speak no more, go get the damn thing without second thoughts! You’ll remember me.
