Constantine - Shredcore

Constantine - Shredcore

\r\nAlmost at the same time with the devastating live show of Descending, in their latest appearance with Lamb of God in Athens, I got the instrumental cd by their guitarist, Constantine.
\r\nThe ex-Nightrage member, who is now in Descending and Mystic Prophecy, has just released his personal cd “Shredcore”,in which he shows his talent as a solo musician, with the precious help of Bob Katsionis (Firewind/Outloud) on keyboards and Frank Huber (ex Valley’s Eve) on drums.
\r\nHis influences on this cd vary from Neoclassical Metal (“Playing With Fire”, where the diminished arpeggios are playing the main role) to modern metal (for instance “Rational Chaos”), with references to progressive guitaristic styles(“Distracted”) , as well as Speed Power Metal (“The Blame Game”).
\r\nHis playing is in great level; with the use of techniques like sweep picking - arpeggios and string bending, his music sounds aggressive and melodic at the same time. Also, the participation of Bob Katsionis on the keyboards, makes the compositions more interesting and not tiring at all.
\r\nPersonally, I liked the very melodic track “A Tear in The Open” and “Jihad”, in which he uses melodic minor scales, creating a magical atmosphere that brings in mind Eastern landscapes.
\r\nTo sum things up, it’s a remarkable album, which appeals not only to guitarists, but also to everybody who is interested in Guitar Fronted Metal. \r\n
