DARKEST HOUR - The Human Romance

DARKEST HOUR - The Human Romance

\r\nDarkest Hour is a band I’ve been watching for some time now. Surely I haven’t been fully enslaved by all their releases but I feel deep respect for them for they firstly swam in the true underground circles before emerging as a wide spread name in the metal field, having numerous fans around the globe. So, let’s see what their new album has to offer..
\r\n
\r\n..Quite a lot actually! After so many years, I gladly see that things have changed only towards the better, especially in the composing part. DH never fell for the good ol’ breakdown trap nore did they copy themselves. They grab the known At The Gates inheritance, add some american feeling only to end up in their own, personal sound. You’ll hear no melo choruses here that bring emo bands tomind. These guys focus on guitar based metal, with intense melodies and remarkable flow. The Human Romance begins and ends beautifuly!
\r\n
\r\n It’s not the album of the year, nore it is the so called "album of the month", it is allthesame an investment you will never regret. Their higher status is a conclusion easy made after listening to the Terra Solaris instrumental(over 8 minutes!) in which the guitars show their teeth with the incredible melodies and the progressing climax. John Henry’s vocals are harsh and passionate while the rhythm section is solid as a wall of bricks. Melodic, fast, powerful, modern, the new album is 100% guaranteed quality metal from a band showing a steady course of quality releases. So, while waiting for their third appearance on greek soil we have nothing but good stuff to be expecting.\r\n
