Ethereal Blue - Essays in Rhyme on Passion & Ethics

\r\nEthereal Blue must have some serious issues against bad taste. How else can I explain all this? I can’t help but wonder how these guys still dwell within the underground circles! Everything, from the wrapping to to the last note show class and skills.

\r\n I truly believe that after this release the greesk scene moved on a few steps. We are talking about quality, atmosphere, experimental music that sees no boundaries and prejudice. They combine Opeth’s feeling, black metal’s frosty chills with tremendous experimental patterns filtered with personality thus giving their own stigma. They never said " let’s play this way" or put any sort of premade shapes to their creations, on the conrtary, they composed long songs with intentions to explore the unknown..
\r\n
\r\n One could also give a progressive characterization to "Essays..." but not in the "instrument masturbating" sense. The feeling of the unexplored, of not knowing what is coming next is what makes this creation pure ART. The dramatic element is strong, both on vocals and the guitars. The voices heard mourn, terrify, weep. Efthimi’s work on his throat is stunning, the guy has a vast range of abilities. The guitarists give perfomances of utter open mind-ness(if such a word even exists!) and let theirselves create. I think that whatever I may write to describe this album will fall to the abyss. Only a careful and essential hearing will bring the right vision of Ethereal Blue to sight.

\r\n The production is kind of misty and blury, in a good sense, and gives a good boost to the outcome, so does Derz. Oth Design’s work on the visual representation on every page of the layout. It’s a package complete in every aspect. I want to congratulate Ethereal Blue for the only obstacle they put before them was the horizon. We are looking forward to their next move.\r\n
