Ghost hailing from Sweden and through 2010 they ve managed to release their 1st demo that lead them to release the 7” inch single “Elizabeth / Death Knell” on Iron Pegasus Records and almost immediately their debut LP “Opus Eponymous” on Lee Dorrian’s label Rise Above, and have in mind that all these had happened through 2010, so the popularity of the band keeps on rising since the 7” inch release is already out of stock, as well as the first cut of their debut LP (1.400 copies) so Rise above is about to release the second run.
\r\nBut let’s talk about music, the music of those guys that keep on playing incognito without revealing their real names. Well “Opus Eponymous” is a classic heavy metal album full of riffs in the vein of  In Solitude and Portrait (Swedish also), with more 70’s aesthetics, plus some psychedelic parts in the vein of The Devils Blood so their sound flirts with traditional doom metal sound. Well, by reading this description is more than sure that you will get confused, especially if you are not a fan of 70’s Doom / Heavy metal revival, but by placing the vinyl on the turntable, or the cd on your cd player, even by the first notes you will understand what I’m talking about. Mercyful fate – ish compositions with a lots of Satanic and occult lyrical themes, since this combination is my all time favourite one, I will rate this one as…
