Helloween - 7 Sinners

\r\n
\r\nWho can really call someone a sinner? Who’s to judge between wrong and right in order to find his own way? Who can really question if we are Metal or not? Well the new Helloween album brings these questions forward. “7 Sinners” is a real challenge, is refreshing and stays on the track that they themselves have founded almost 2 decades ago. After a lousy release (“unarmed”) Helloween decide to “Rearm” themselves and unleash hell delivering their best album (as a whole!) since the amazing “Dark Ride”!! If that sounds too much for you, wait until you listen to the album and compare it with their latest releases growing your own conclusions. “7 Sinners” is an absolutely inspired and definitely Metal release that not only honors the name and history of the band but also makes it perfectly clear that Power Metal’s “old guard” is not done yet (and probably won’t be for a long time)
\r\nAs for the compositions, well there are no mediocre songs along with some “hits” to make the album uneven. Her e we have 13 equally inspired songs each with its own character and mood, they, in fact, sound so unique that makes you think if you are listening to some compilation of the band’s best songs for the last decade and not to a brand new album!
\r\n“Where The Sinners Go” is the bombastic opening track that prepares the listening for what’s going to follow while in the next track there’s a question that you must answer in order to continue listening, “Are you metal?”. The questions keep occurring on “Who Is Mr. Madman?”  with its clever “Perfect Gentleman”  part somewhere in the middle of the track. The listening process goes on and anyone dubious about the album’s value will be convinced simply by listening to songs like “World Of Fantasy” (which could be coming from the “Keepers..” era!!) and the awesome “Smile Of The Sun” with its “Dark Ride” atmosphere and the amazing singing of Andi Deris!
\r\nAfter listening to the album a couple of times, you know for sure that this is one of the best Power Metal albums of the last decade. Simple as that.
\r\nWe don’t think that “7 Sinners” needs time to prove its worth, time favors either more complicated bands or the mediocre ones. Helloween don’t belong to either of these categories. So for us “7 Sinners” is already a classic. Now you can lay back, push the “play” button once more and try to answer the critical question. “Are You Metal?”
\r\nWe Definitely are!
