Heretic - Praising Satan - 15 Years Of Ultimate Satanic Sleaze

\r\nThe term "cult" often gets misused, not to say it’s deliberately disorienting..In the case of Heretic we are being let to believe things that lack...truth! This release is a collection of songs from several 7 inch’s plus some bonus tracks. So what?

\r\n The paper that came along with the promo cd describes them as black/punk/rock’n’roll act with a cult status. What I did hear though is a meaningless, boring, lame punk rock "something" with millions of holes in the plot. Songs consisting of a couple of riffs, with absolutely no nerve, no significant structure. The word "satan" is heard a zillion times per minute, I really got tired of it! I understand it’s all about the evilness and all but for satan’s sake, give me a break! Lack of imagination cannot hide behind repeatition. I guess that is where the "black" part goes..

\r\n And yes, you can easily tell they’re influenced by Venom but without even touching the mighty metallers. In fact I believe Venom seem like tech gods in comparison. Yeah, that bad. In terms of sound and production the cd reminds of Inferno’s Utter Hell but still without a trace of  the Norwegians’ status and quality, to set the record straight..

\r\n Heretic aim at a specific target group, those "collectors" that praise their "56th out of a 100" copy as if they’d sell more in any other chance...so, those of you that collect "rareties" keep it up, the rest of us will move on...\r\n
