Legio Mortis - The Human Creation And The Devil's Contribution
\r\nThere are some bands out there, utterly condemned to dwell in the shadows of their influences just because they can never get past the concept of being a fan into becoming an actuall musician. Everything they will ever release is a replica or a "it brings this to mind" example without being able to express their true talent - if there is any. Legio Mortis is one of these cases. If their newest album is a Cradle of Filth wannabe in the year of the goatlord 2011, something has to be out of place...

\r\n The downfall begins with the welcoming of a bad layout cover but also with the first strike of a mediocre sound production. What follows makes things even worse: bad songs and even worse vocals by Marco Popp who tries so bad to sound like Danni Filth but fails in a tragic way. His screams lack power and texture, a lot of work has to be done in order to raise the level. The German horde tries to play a mixture of melodic black metal with gothic touches, keyboards and all kinds of add-ons but their effort stops at the word "try". That’s all there is to it. The songs are of no interest, no good ideas to hook you enough so that you may listen to the album again. On the contrary, "The Human Creation And The Devil’s Contribution" gets you easily tired with its long duration(above an hour) and its dry pointlessness. Oh, and the cover of Paradise Lost’s "Pity The Sadness" is..sad, the least to say.

\r\n I don’t think there salvation for this band unless they follow drastic steps concerning their music and inspiration level. Perhaps they do this out of love or for the fuck of it but they could have stopped at the rehearsal room. Releasing such albums in public is a crime! Fourth album in ten years, there is either something wrong with my ears or these guys are persistent. Whoever is curious enough just have a listen but I will be the first to comment on you grim face when the 5th minute is over.\r\n
