The Meads of Asphodel - The Early Years

The Meads of Asphodel - The Early Years

The UK outfit Meads of Asphodel for many people is one of the most distinctive bands out there due too their original and very weird way of composing and performing. Someone would tell with such an ease that this band is a classic black progressive metal band, that can easily and with such a success mix black metal with many folklore sounds, and during this review I realized that they also used the classic Greek Syrtaki Dance !!!! (Book Of Dreams)
\r\nSo, “The Early Days” is about a compilation / best of mainly consisted of the bands early demo tapes, rare tracks and two unreleased tracks, one of which is a cover song to Italian Masters Bulldozer!!! The rest of the track list is from their first three demo tapes and the last four are demo versions of tracks that were about to be featured on the split album with Mayhem. Needless to say that Meads Of Asphodel left us speechless on that album with the track “Assasins Of Allah”, a cover version to “Hassan I Saba” by the psychedelic masters Hawkind. Of course is common knowledge that members of Meads Of Asphodel have been part of Hawkwind line up (Alan Davey and Huw Lloyd Langton).
\r\nSo if you are a fan of these UK lads just grab this collection without second though, on the other hand if you just beeing introduced to the band, you should rather grab a full length of them.
