Northland - Revenge

\r\nWhen you see a spanish band playing folk/pagan metal you cannot but wonder since Spain has no tradition in the genre. At least not a strong one. After watching the band members’ babyfaces that doubt grows even stronger...and yet it feels so good to be wrong in the end.

\r\n The guys feel 100% the genre’s vibes and needs and gives us an amazing debut with songs that would be difficult to compose even for an experienced musician of thi style. If you are a fan of this kind of epic sound and like bands such as Suidakra, Eluveitie, Ensiferum and so on, then you just found your next fix. Compositions enriched with violin and all sorts of instruments you can imagine make you think you can never get tired of the album. It’s not only that they are worthy manipulators of their instruments but they also know well how to write music with colour and passion. And we’re talking about a music group with only 2 years of discography presense including their demo.

\r\n You press play, close your eyes and smell the scent of burning wood, the humidity, the warm atmosphere around the fire, you hear the dwarves shout and laugh, stare at landscapes lit by 3 suns. This is as epic as it can get! The production is equally "shared", the vocals in the vein of Children Of Bodom and Ensiferum and the artwork defines EPIC. Northland are in the right path and I’m sure we will be hearing from them soon enough. Just a couple of good tours and they’re way up there.

\r\n To wrap it up, I want to praise the one responsible for the artwork as the band pic is simply the best I’ve ever seen. That’s all folks!\r\n
