Pÿlon - Armoury Of God

Pÿlon - Armoury Of God

Two years after their last album “Doom” the Swiss outfit Pylon returns with their brand new album “Armoury Of God”, that music wise sticks to their previous release, “Doom” an album that really changed Pylon music direction in comparison with their older releases.
\r\nEven from the first riff the album gave me impression of a giant tombstone covering me, gradually and with an increasing heaviness. This is an extremely heavy Doom riffage that personally I think that tries to burn my remaining brain cells, those who have managed to remain alive despite my continuous listening of doom metal all these years.
\r\nLengthy and down-tempo tracks with some up-tempo breaks, just to remind me that I am still alive and I can breath. Some influences from Count Raven, Saint Vitus, Black Hole etc are audible, also some more – Heave Metal influences in this album that help the whole outcome to be more appealing not only to the Doom Metal fans, but also to the Heavy metal fans which their doom metal horizon stops to bands like Candlemass, Saint Vitus etc.
\r\nGreat and eerie vocals with some reverb and some keyboards that increase this gloomy Doom Metal atmosphere. Another important for me fact is that there is also on “Armoury of Gods” a track with Greek title something that really satisfy me.
\r\nMy Last comment on this album … Well all these years I used to listened to “Nightfall” from Candlemass on Holy Friday, from now on “Armoury Of Gods” will take it’s place…
