Pentagram - Last Rites

Pentagram - Last Rites

How could anyone review a Pentagram Album? This band from 1972 till today keeps on delivering the best music around without any exaggerations or any kind of arrogance! Pure Heavy / Doom  Metal, Doom Rock etc and with every single release they cause shivers down our spines, or at least for those who still feel their music and magic!
\r\nSeven years have passed since their last album “Show Em How” and the time has come for Bobby (one of the most cult, unique and sincere music icons of the scene) to release the new Pentagram album “Last Rites” on Metal Blade Records, an album wich we’ve been waiting for since 2009 and at last this April will be released. I consider this album the most significant after the release of “Be Forewarned” the reason is simple… Victor Griffin has return on guitars so the classic unique 80’s sound of Pentagram is back, obscure, macabre, but in the same time so sweet for our ears, just like an good friend from the past. I also consider “American Dream” a very special track since the vocals have been made by Victor and his unique voice (all of you , the “Place Of Skulls” fans you know what I’m talking about)
\r\nAnother special track is the re take of “Walk in the Blue Light” from the 70’s demos of the band, a tracks that delivers such a nostalgic feeling. The new opus of the band is definitely “Call the Man” with Bobby’s unique vocals and Victor’s unique guitar tone and solos, a track that I am looking forward to listen to on the near future live show of Pentagram in Athens the same goes also for the bluesy epic “Windmills and Chimes", a track I really fell in love with even from the fisrt listening. No more words! The band that changed my life has just release one of their greatest albums and I believe that the word are meaningless so is the rating that’s why I WON’T RATE THIS ALBUM… ALL HAIL BOBBY AND VICTOR
