Proghma-C - Bar-do Travel

Proghma-C (great name) are from Poland and they play an experimental kind of metal.
\r\nWell these guys are serious but let’s see how they begun their journey. They formed in 2002 pointing the creation of a unique and different music. Their first e.p "Down In a spiral”(2005) was never published by a record label, it has received positive acclaim among fans of the genre though. The year 2009 the band recorded their 1st full length "Bar-do Travel". It then was released in Poland and then in the rest of Europe and the Us in 2010 by Mystic Productions.

\r\nThe first time i put the record into my player i was like "oh no, not once again a meshuggah copy-paste band", but thank god i was very wrong. The guys as i said are serious and they play from their hearts. First of all the thing that made me happy was the production. Bar-do Travel was a self-financed album in the first place and the result is just amazing. Heavy downtuned guitars, great bass and drums in best sound. I don’t have to say anything about the production. It’s just the appropriate one. As for the music i think we have here not a unique music but a unique mix. Imagine Cynic in atmospheric parts, Tool in the proggresive rock parts and voice, Meshuggah for the beastial emotions, and a crazy abnormal idea on bands like Red Sparrows, Neurosis etc. Mix all these in an artistique and not ridiculous way and here you have Proghma-C’s music. A music which is strange and different enough to make you put it again and again in your player trying to reveal its every secret in music writing.The only thing that i didn’t like was the vocalist’s accent. So great voice but not good accent. He has to do some work and that’s all. In general Poland has a top quality audience as i have experienced in the past, with a great taste on music (listening or playing) and that’s another +1 for the music minds from Poland. I liked it a lot. There’s some spirit in there and i suggest to everyone give it a shot.
