Stratovarius - Elysium

Stratovarius - Elysium

\r\nI don’t think that when a basic member leaves a band, its work should be a reference point nor compared to the band’s present work all the time. After all, who knows for sure what might have happened if that member had remained in the band, or how things might have turn out. So, I wouldn’t like to focus on Τimo Τolkki’s absence rather than on the fact that Stratovarius were once in a creative delirium, composing the one great song after the other, but now they fail on doing the same.
\r\n“Elysium” is a nice album, actually on some parts you will hardly avoid bang your head and it may even travel you (i.e. Infernal Maze , Lifetime In A Moment). Nontheless, Timo Kotipelto’s vocals are not as passionate and intense they used to be, there aren’t any great riffs or themes to get enthusiast about, the rhythm section that supports the songs is not anything special and, in conclusion, this album doesn’t ’t convince that it’ s good enough for a Stratovarius album. The expectations from some bands are really great.    \r\n
