SWEET SYBIL - Sweet Sybil

SWEET SYBIL - Sweet Sybil

These American sleaze/hard rockers from Chicago are a special case. Sweet Sybil had their share of fame back in the late 80’s, when hard rock was at its peak and though they didn’t manage to release a full length album they had a large number of supporters on the local scene. Unfortunately their only releases, before they disband in 1992 was an EP on 1991 and the best of “Loud And Proud” back in 1992. These songs including a recently recorded track (“You & I”) are released by Eonian Records in this CD with a very good production and a kick ass cover artwork.
\r\nSweet Sybil are playing sleaze/hard rock in their own dirty way, reminding of bands like Guns ‘n’ Roses (mostly on vocals), Alleycat Scrath and Roxx Gang and this means only one thing. Uncompromised, dirty, street hard rock like the one a bunch of bums like to play or just listen to, hanging around the dirty alleys of Hollywood, getting drunk with cheap whisky somewhere in the late 80’s (those were the days…)
\r\n“Remember When” and “Downtown Suicide” are tracks that should be hits and played on clubs all over the world while “Someone In Your Eyes” really blew my brains with its melodic chorus. Of course there are some more melodic songs, like “Alone With You” and “You & I” something that doesn’t bother me at all, on the contrary!
\r\nSo those of you who dig high octane Hard Rock check these dudes out and you won’t be disappointed.
