Syrach - A Dark Burial

Syrach - A Dark Burial

Syrach is a Norwegian based outfit and according to Napalm, their label, they play doom metal.
\r\nIn “A Dark Burial” album I can trace many influences from the UK Doom metal scene of the mid 90’s and bands such as My Dying Bride, Anathema etc, but since they are Norwegians, Syrach can’t avoid using some atmospheric black metal aesthetics, Also some death metal influences are present.
\r\nMy Main objection about the whole musical product of these Norwegians is the lack of cohesion  through out their album, and thus for example, “Curse of The Souls” sounds like black metal track, “River’s Rage” sounds more death metal and “A Dark Burial” sounds doomier than the previous ones. The fact that the band seems not to combine all of their musical elements through out the album, gives probably the wrong image of “We Don’t Know What We Wanna Play”. Despite this, tracks like “A Mourner’s Kiss”, “In Darkness I Sigh” and “Ouroboros” save the whole album. Just listen and judge by yourselves.
