We Are the Damned - Holy Beast

\r\n This is a strange case of nutjob. You’re not quite sure as to what exactly is going on in this album until you let go and let it flow within you, regardless the sign under which it may be. The Portuguese maniacs finally get you on their side with the honesty and the straight forward attitude they deliver their fine tunes. But let’s see what exactly it is that BASTARDIZED RECORDINGS is serving us this time.

\r\n Holy Beast enters the aural field with a kinda unnecessary instrumental intro lasting two and a half minutes only to fuck shit up(in the good sense of course!) after two or three songs. Metal, rock’n’roll, a bit of crust, some death metal and tons of groove. But not to confuse you more, imagine a bastardised version of Entombed(the To Ride, Shoot Straight and Speak the Truth era) with a clearer production and a huge set of BALLS. There is absolutely no way you won’t move your head up and down when listening to "Raping the Law of the Land" or "Vengeance Havoc" for example. The vocalist is insanely good(bizzare too!), violence is right the next corner and the songs become ideal for a highway suicidal ride! Their rock’n’roll side becomes more and more obvious as the minutes roll and 14 songs become a 50 minutes eargasm.

\r\n Lyrically, they make fun of obligatory christian ethics in modern society and they maintain this feeling throughout the album. The sound is amazingly heavy, and generally, you will find nothing negative to say about Holy Beast. The songs are well structured and roll easily and passionable. Even the nine and a half minute "Lucifer VIP" with the piano part right in the middle of it is amazing and works as an ideal outro towards the bonus track(Neo Pigs). The fresh blood and energy that flows inside this band’s veins is strong enough to bring tears of joy and awe to music lovers of this type. Personally, I loved the album so much, I’ll definitely use it as a reference on how passionate music needs to be played. Be sure to check these guys out no matter what "kind of rocker" you are.\r\n
