While Heaven Wept - Fear Of Infinity

While Heaven Wept - Fear Of Infinity

The “phenomenon” While Heaven Wept is back once again and this time there was no need to wait 6 years for a new album. The band seems to be in a productive crescendo since the last two years there are severala WHW releases, re releases, live albums, DVDs etc. Two years after their latest full length “Vast Oceans Of Lachrymose” (the most successful WHW release that made the band to sing a contract with Nuclear Blast) WHW strikes back with their 4th full length “Fear Of Infinity
\r\nThe new album sticks to their classic sound, somewhere between Epic Doom Metal and Progressive Metal and through these 37 minutes long LP the band delivers maybe their most mature release till now, composing wise, production wise plus the right balance between doom metal and progressive metal. Many up tempo tracks featured in the LP,  in the vein of their previous release, which in specific parts reminds me of Arcturus (??) Rain‘s vocals gives a different dimension to Tom Phillips’ melodic lines while the doom riffing of Tom is vivid throughout the entirety of the album.
\r\nPersonally I believe that “Fear Of Infinity” had to be released before “V.O.L.” due too the fact that the balance between Doom Metal and Progressive metal elements is better. Maybe that happened because according to Tom Phillips interview on metalzone gr a couple of years ago, the most part of “Fear Of Infinity” was already composed before the “VOL” release. A pleasant surprise is the re take of an old out take track “Unplentitude” that can be found on an old compilation vinyl only release Chapter One: 1989-1999”, on Metal Supremacy Records. If I had to choose some tracks out of the “Fear Of Infinity” LP these would be “To Grieve Forever” a track that I had to listen to live on Up The Hammers VI festival plus the 11 minutes long opus “Finality
\r\nThe album will be released in 22nd of April on Nuclear Blast Records, moreover there is a special preorder on NB site for the purple vinyl edition of the album so hurry up…
