WINO - Adrift

Well the man is back and this time with such a different album according to his previous releases. So Scott “Wino” Weinrich well know for being a member of too many bands, just to mention a few, Saint Vitus, The Obsessed, Spirit Caravan, after his first release under the moniker “Wino” (Punctuated Equilibrium 2009), just decided to release his second effort “adrift” as an – almost – acoustic album, letting his Blues / Southern / Dessert origin to take over his inspiration and creativity. Well Wino always let his origins to inspire him, but this time the Southern feeling is just more obvious than any other previous release
\r\nThe “sensitive” side of this tattoo covered distinctive persona of world music, unfolds with the best possible way, with an acoustic guitar and his distinctive voice, that “spits” his lyrics, lyrics of truth and personal feelings. Wino always used to write lyrics about those things, but on an acoustic album like this one, the lyrics gain a different meaning. “Adrift” can be described as a trippy album while in the same time punch you right in the face and of course I can smell this light essence of bourbon in this one. To give you a picture, I can describe this album by imagining Wino laid back in a western ranch with an acoustic guitar in his hand while he is thinking about life matters and having a couple of drinks.
\r\nOur pleasure is growing because we are about to catch him once more on stage performing this new album, at AN club, here in Athens, and for sure we are about to experience some great time.
