Firehouse @ Gagarin 205

\r\nThursday night and one of my dreams, to watch one of the best hard rock bands at Gagarin, was about to come true. First time in our country the band which has combined mainstream hits, sentimental ballads and hard rocking songs and my anxiety for the result, was increasing!
\r\n
\r\nFirst it was Kingdragon’s time to hit the stage. This Greek band tries to play a melodic hard rock kind of music and they succeed in doing that up to a point. They performed for about 35min. almost all of their debut cd ("Fire In The Sky" EP) and a good cover on Pretty Maids (Love Games). This cover was their highlight, as they managed to take the crowd by their side and receive a warm applause. \r\n

\r\nThe sound wasn’t bad, something which helped them, in order to present their show. Their on-stage attitude, dispite the fact that it was a little bit exaggerated, especially by the vocalist, didn’t annoyed at all, due to this particular style of music. The band’s performance, even if it was in high standards, left me a undesided, as they didn’t convience me, whether they are a Hard Rock or a Heavy Metal Band.\r\n

\r\n

\r\nAnother minus, was the on stage birthday party they hit, for their keyboard player, which was pointless and without meaning for the fans. Kingdragon left the stage full of promises for the future, due to the fact that even if the members are in the scene for ages, this effort is brand new.\r\n

\r\nNext to come, was the "main course" Firehouse. At 22:30 and after the prologue of the hymn "For Those About To Rock We Salute You", the North Carolina quartet was there to prove, that even if the years have passed, they can still deliver their music to the crowds, as good as the old times. Hitting the stage with "Rock You Tonight", we were immediately convinced about what was going to follow. \r\n

\r\nHaving a good sound result, they went on to the "Hymn of the heartbroken ones" by the title "All She Wrote". Needless to describe the reactions of the fans. C.J. Snare’s voice was unbelievably clear, while the guitarist was "speaking" with his riffs and flawless solos. I could also name this evening, "the bass and drum night", due to the fact that the whole groove, the smiling/ "poser" drummer and a "mostly eighth-notes" low-end master were holding, was making the whole crowd "shake".

\r\nDuring their performance, we had, also, the chance to listen to their masterpieces and all time classic hits, such as "Overnight Sensation", "Rock On The Radio" (their debut album was honoured through the entire live) and of course "Love Of A Lifetime" and "When I Look Into Your Eyes", two love songs performed full of passion. Their set list was filled with "Outta Be A Law", "Don’t Walk Away", "Shake & Tumble", "Door To Door" and "Holding On", accompanied by a drum and a guitar solo. The encore entering with "Reach For The Sky" simply blown our minds away and the conclusion of "Don’t Treat Me Bad" just proved that Firehouse are still alive and kickin’. \r\n

\r\nI am sorry if I have forgotten something, but their real Hard Rock attitude, the selection of the songs and the excellent performance, amazed me up to the extent, that I couldn’t remember every track they performed. So till next time ..."Bye Bye Baby Bye Bye"!!!!!!\r\n
