Saturnus @ Underworld Club

8 years ago, when I used to listen to the Martyre I couldn’t imagine there would come a time when we will\r\nhave the opportunity to see Saturnus live in Greece and moreover that we will get to see them twice!\r\nWith a rather newly released album and the memories of their appearance in the\r\nclub "Ston aera" back in 2005, the band returned in Greece only this time in the center of Athens in club Underworld.\r\nHolding the memory of that first time I saw them live I went to the venue,\r\nquite late so I missed both the support bands. This time what stroke me was the\r\nfact that there were much more people than the first time. I might be that they\r\nhad left the slow evolution back and the fresh album gave them more reasons to\r\nbe noticed by the fans. We need to point out that the line up of Saturnus at\r\nthe moment is enriched by their original bass player and Lennart Jacobsen is history.

\r\nThe set\r\nlist was quite satisfying.\r\nParadise Belongs To You, Murky Waters, Rain Wash Me, I Long, Lost My Way, I\r\nLove Thee, Inflame Thy Heart, Softly On The Path You Fade, Pretend, Empty\r\nHanded, Christ Goodbye and three more songs I can’t remember but I think one of\r\nthem was Starres from"For The Loveless Lonely\r\nNights" Mini album. Throughout the concert I didn’t see anything I didn’t\r\nexpect. A band with full professionals well bonded, with no mistakes, no mishaps performing in front of an audience which knew\r\nall lyrics and sang along. This time Thomas, was more talkative in-between the songs.\r\nI really can’t say there was\r\none song that differed within the rest. However the impact on Christ Goodbye and Empty Handed was warmer but generally the atmosphere was\r\ninto a certain level. As far as the sound is concerned where I was standing for half of the show everything\r\nseemed to sound a little low. Somewhere in the middle of the set list when I\r\nwas near the stage the volume was much higher but to be sincere it was the\r\nfirst show my ears weren’t buzzing afterwards. In general all instruments sounded decent and clear.

\r\nIn conclusion, it was a\r\nvery good show, how couldn’t it be it’s Saturnus we’re talking about, but\r\npersonally I preferred the previous one. Maybe because it included the enthusiasm of the first time and the realization of a dream come true to see them live. On Saturday, it was just a good concert with an exquisite band (in my opinion). Within the year the\r\nnew album shall be released and all we can add is that Saturnus are always more\r\nthan welcome in Greece...\r\nInflame Thy Heart!
