Exodus - Bonded By Blood

Exodus - Bonded By Blood

\r\nWelcome to the kingdom of riffs. To the kingdom of EXODUS. To the kingdom of Bonded By Blood. Here where you are going to hear the best guitarist of all times, Rick "strike lightnings" Hunolt and Gary "throw thunders" Holt, playing some of the best and heaviest riffs that you have ever listened to. Here where the to solo kings give lessons of collaboration, proving that to achieve playing good "Thrash" (and in general Metal) you must be musician with…balls and not… "balls" musician, as it happens to a great extent nowadays, when hundreds of guys spend a fortune in studios to cover their weaknesses and their total loss of imagination and inspiration. \r\n

\r\n

\r\nThere are also some people that say: "if you don’t listen to us..then you are not into Metal"….guys what are you talking about?" So, I am an idiot of what I am listening to for 20 years??? Thanks that, even now, you came to open my mind….Damn, you need many kicks…. \r\n

\r\n

\r\nAll of you who are fans of those people, don’t even try to read the rest. On the other hand, all of you who are fans of the original, welcome to the kingdom of the best Thrash Metal album of all times. Let the fans of lovely (of that era) SLAYER forgive me, but I cannot put above the powerful, but flat.. Reign In Blood. The inexhaustible inspiration and raw "violence" of Bonded By Blood, for myself is an one way road. If you would like you can count me the cons of this album. Yes, it is true that its production is "poor", but with the situation of those years, the album sounds very good, taking also into account the limited budget, we couldn’t wait for something better. \r\n

\r\n

\r\nMoreover, this was a general problem, so we must show comprehension. You can also tell me about the Paul Baloff voice. It is true that Ballow shows exaggeration in his duties, which results in being boring some times. In any case, from "dull" and completely "unexciting" Araya, I prefer him. \r\n

\r\n

\r\nAraya always gave me the impression that he is trying just to say the songs, contrary to Baloff who gives his best because of his madness!!! However the band seemed to be influenced from the bad criticisms that Ballow received and willing to get into a more mainstream direction, they replaced him with the singer of TESTAMENT, Steve Sousa. A move, which as the years passed, proved to be mistaken., because they lost part of their aggressiveness, but also Baloff’s helping hand in the composition of the songs. Sousa, according to my opinion, offered nothing to EXODUS, apart from "noise" if his voice resembles with the voice of Bobby "Blitz" Ellsworth from OVERKILL or with Udo... \r\n

\r\n

\r\nYou forget all these and press the play button and then the two Kings, begun to "throw fires" from their guitar. From where to begin and where you must stop… from the terrific "Piranha" riffs, which make you feel that a flock of them are coming directly to you? From the incredible heavy riffs of Deliver Us To Evil? From the absolute hymn of Thrash Metal, "Strike Of The Beast"? It doesn’t really matter which song to choose. All of them are so good and inspired, that will make you love all of them. Personally, I adore them all, but I am not going to get into the process to mention each one separately, because I probably be come boring, like Baloss. If I have not become yet…so the only thing that I will tell you is GO IMMEDIATELY AND BUY IT!!! \r\n

\r\nAnother Lesson In Violence (1997) \r\n

\r\n

\r\nIf you already have done this, but you the younger ones have problem with its "poor" sound ( I won’t judge you), as you are used to the excellent productions of nowadays, there is another solution for you…In 1997 the band reunited and released a live album, entitled "Another Lesson In Violence", in which they perform almost whole Bonded By Blood (except Metal Command), Pleasures Of The Flesh, Seeds Of Hate and Brain Dead , from their second album Pleasure Of The Flesh and the cherry in the cake, was the unreleased -until then- Impaler, a song which comes from their early days and was written from Kirk Hammett, who was founding member of Exodus, before he moved to our beloved (..of that era) METALLICA. \r\n

\r\n

\r\nWhat you are going to listen in this album, is beyond description. The ΑυτÏŒ που θα ακούσετε ÏŒταν βάλετε τον δίσκο να παίζει είναι υπεράνω κάθε περιγραφής. Ο term heavy, takes its real meaning…when the band begins to play, you feel the impression that an explosion wave is coming towards you, ready to disappear you…In this album the Bonded by Blood songs sound as they must and the combination of those awesome riffs and nowadays production, is really unique. \r\n

\r\n \r\n

\r\n

\r\nAs unique also is Baloff’s performance, who – improved than ever before- he proven his importance and showed how much he was an absence for EXODUS. Via Another Lesson In Violence, the Kings of riffs, gave a "violent" lesson" to all those non-existent, who tried to steal their crown. Run and hide, Go to your saps, where you deserve to be. In the Kingdom Of EXODUS, there is no place for waste like you.. and don’t think that because of Baloff’s death in 2002 after a cerebral accident and the retirement of Rick Hunolt, due to health problems, the luck has smiled at you. As long as their albums still exist, you will be into your holes and remain hidden. They will be forever the Kings of riffs \r\n

\r\n

\r\nLONG LIVE THE KINGS. LONG LIVE EXODUS. \r\n
