Cerebral Bore - Maniacal Miscreation

\r\nHow much death metal could evolve and develope its sound is something noone could have predicted back in the early ’90s. After all the classic bands like Deicide and Cannibal Corpse, we had the more melodic acts, brutal death metal, grind/death, guttural revolutions and so on. All those and even more subgenres showed the open minds of the extreme musicians. And just when you thought all has been played and everyone nowadays walks on paths that have been walked before, bands like Cerebral Bore come to bewilder you. The scotish lads signed to Earache recently and this is actually the re-release of their self-financed debut that came out last year.
\r\n
\r\n Fresh brutal death metal, extreme all the way, with a breeze of overwhelming energy and doses of tech shots - not show off of any kind. Imagine the good era of Aborted, with the Dying Fetus groove and the rotting Viral Load vibe but also add tons or personality in their sound. This would more or less sum up the Cerebral Bore identity. This and the addition of an amazing female throat. Of course I’m not talking about jokes likes Arch Enemy(...). It’s about real death metal, the Devourment/Disgorge vocal school. Som is gifted with an amazing throat, without the use of digital processing and such lies the way the above mentioned does. "Maniacal Miscreation" is priviliged to be an album with kick ass songs, flowing smoothly with the ability to keep the interest level high at all times. The breaks are frequent, revealing a multi-sided vision of the extreme. Βrutality meets musicianship in the guitars too, paying attention to very last detail. All the strings, bass and guitars, do an amazing work as well as the inspired drumming. A varied work indeed.

\r\n Hell, I tried to find a flow to Cerebral Bore’s first full length but in vein. Eight songs of fresh, flesh cutting death metal that give the kiss of life to the extreme sound of today. All the noise that’s been going on around these guys lately is not unjustified, nore because of the female vocalist. This album is, to put it simply, killer from all sides. You had better give it a listen if you’re into violent tunes, this is an important part of the future. Oh, I forgot to mention the sound: modern, yet not plastic, Just the way it should be! Brilliant work guys!\r\n
