Deadlock - Manifesto

\r\nIf I must put a label on Deadlock’s music, the word would be “schizophrenic”. Deadlock could be another metal core band, but they’re not. They could be an average female fronted band, but they’re not that either. I will have to admit that their music, although it sounds simple, is sometimes extremely complicated. That’s because Deadlock have filled their compositions with various and diverse elements so that is extremely difficult to define their music identity.
\r\nIf you got a bit confused with the above statement, i’ll explain myself. “Manifesto’s” opening track is a house-trance instumental which introduces a metal core dynamite called “Martyr To Science” with an alteration between brutal and melodic female vocals. The same formula goes to the other songs too. Melodies and tempos are constantly shifting to violent riffing and growling vocals, while in “deathrace” after an amazing guitar solo the singer starts singing in rap style as if he was Eminem! The saxophone solo on the track that follows proves that Deadlock is definitely more than an ordinary metal core band.
\r\nThe production sounds powerful and brings up all the elements of the compositions while the cover of Sisters of mercy’s “temple of love” sounds really nice.
\r\nI don’t know if Deadlock would appeal to everyone who likes the above genres because, as I said before, they’re rather radical and they could be easily called progressive, with the term meaning evolution and introduction of new elements and not excessive musical performance.
\r\nSo since “manifesto” is not an average album, it requires hours of listening until someone decides if he likes it or not.\r\n
