\r\nGerman black metal never got the spotlights on its shoulders as a scene, perhaps not unjustified. The bands over there had no duration or the quality to remain strong and up to date. And here we are now, with Grabak releasing their fifth opus, seeming to come out of nowhere and making us wonder if things are going to change for black metal in sausage land.

\r\n The truth is, this album is not all that bad. Strong ebony metal, not as grim as their norwegian partners in crime, nore that melodic too. All the "necessities" are present, blastbeats, atmospheric breaks, female vocals scattered and Dissection shots to ease the pain. On the other hand though, "Sin" did not quite kill me. And while the songs are not soft baby food, they couldn’t get stuck to my head for some reason. I never felt the need to repeat the listening too, surely I put the album on 5-6 times in order to have a full view but eventually I threw it into the oblivion that resides within me.

\r\n But, this is the fifth album, which means there has to be some interest from the press and the extreme metal audience even though I had been ignoring their very existence up until now. Perhaps the ones buried deep into the genre may have a more in depth opinion on the german act. This could be some cult diamond I’m unaware of but the point is the album could not knock me down and I take that as a negative outcome. A good production and a twisted flavour could be enough to some of you but have a listen first!\r\n
