JUNGLE ROT - What horrors await

JUNGLE ROT - What horrors await

Even though they are in the scene for almost 15 years now, I admit I ‘ve never heard of Jungle Rot. “What horrors await” is their 6th full length release and is more or less a very good sample of old school death metal. There are no surpises here, no weepy melodies no emo choruses. Jungle Rot are still doing what they do best. They’re playing pure, solid death metal, the way it’s meant to be played.
\r\nFollowing the steps of Six Feet Under and the mighty Bolt Thrower they charge with a 13 songs full-scale-war death metal assault, with the guitars having that Thrashy sound (who said that death metal isn’t a more brutal thrash genre?) including a cover of the all time Destruction’s classic “Invincible Force”.
\r\nDave Matrise’s guttural voice sounds the attack and the war begins! The compositions. As I mentioned before are the definition of the term “old school death metal” while there are some mid-tempo tracks which save the listener from suffering a damaged neck.
\r\nThose of you already familiar with Jungle Rot’s previews releases I am sure you know what to expect from this one. Those of you searching for a substitute to Bolt Thrower ( actually there’s no such thing, we just suppose…) now that they are “Inactive” well check these guys out. They do have something to say.
