Kylesa - Static Tensions

Kylesa - Static Tensions

Well….Here we deal with one of my personal favourites…So favourite that you would never understand! The legendary Kylesa come back with a new dynamite album that has come to light fires in our minds! I had tasted a bit of the album through Myspace with Said and Done, as well as with the Unknown Awareness ep (it certainly is the best track in the album), but I did not expect this kind of surprise! The drummers have outreached themselves, the guitars shred and the vocal, both male and female (I am gonna propose to Laura Pleasants when they come to Rockwave in Greece in the summer…) get every soul high! I think Static Tensions is their best moment by now (most fans think the same about To Walk A Middle Course), but it is not only this that fascinates me ,but also the fact that they have got a constant  (and justified) rise as a band. This time , the songs get out of the listener many more emotions, the band gets your soul up high while they suddenly leave you surprised with a hardcore/crust intermission, as doom metal backs the whole thing up and puts a burden even in your soul…I always said that Kylesa remind me of  a mixture of Nausea, Kyuss, St. Vitus and Discharge, but now I think that every one else will try to be just like them! I cannot really describe their music or put a label on it. You have to listen to Kylesa and you will certainly love them! Plus, there is a great cover by the great  John Baisley of Baroness. We are waiting for them at Rockwave festival on the 30th of June amd we will certainly have our mouths hanging for a while…
