MEDEN AGAN - Erevos Aenaon

\r\n The greek scene is filled with bands that try to do stuff. You know, play their part in the history of hard music. Other depend on their image, others on their technical skills as musicians and others rely on the people they know or even their wallets(money moves the world and all..). Meden Agan is a band depends on good music and its musicians’ talent to compose good songs. It’s as simple as that.

\r\n Of course this does not mean they have quit all other aspects such as the visual part. So, behind an amazing cover done by Seth of Septic Flesh you are bound to find the so called female fronted band thingy but given with the best possible manner. Should I begin with Iliana’s voice? Possibly the best female vocalist in Greece in regards to the genre. She sings flawlessly, her performance indicates extended knowledge on the subject and class. You can try as hard as you want, you will not find the single spot of dirt on her voise. As for the songs themselves, while the general style of the band is between known acts like Nightwish and Within Temptation you will see that these guys stand out of the crowd and manage to exceed all expectations. Their material shows quality and mature thinking. Surpassing the mediocre standards of most alike bands, I believe Meden Agan can certainly make a name of themselves.

\r\n The guitars don’t just stand there. The string abusers have done quite a good job providing themes well structured and with remarkable flow. I was really glad to listen to such an album, keeping in mind that I’m extremely prejudiced when it comes to such bands. And when most bands try to show off their cool photo session with a chick showing off everything but her true talent, these Athenians offer a musical creation that truly honors its creators. This being their real debut(neglecting the mini album 4 years ago) we are guaranteed to get more stuff from Meden Agan. They are destined for greater things.\r\n
