\r\nWell that’s a surprise!! Twenty years have passed since OZ’s last release, the notorious “Roll The Dice” (1991) that was meant to be their last album. Since then the group disbanded and remained dormant until now. Twenty Years later they decide to regroup and release a new album. \r\n“Burning Leather” is what we would call a “Classic Metal Album” (if not Retro) which gives you the feeling that OZ somehow managed to roll back the years and continue where they stopped after “Roll The Dice”. This feeling is even more enhanced by the production (which reminded me of times long gone) as well as the songs themselves which took me back to the good old days. The album kicks in with the powerful “Dominator” and rolls even better with the following “Search Lights”. The riffing is very well worked during the whole album and the same goes to the performance of the band. The new songs stand at the same level with the old ones and I found it really hard to tell the difference between them and the re-recorded old songs that fill the album! \r\nIn a few words “Burning Leather” is a good heavy metal album including some very powerful songs you can bang your head onto! Might not be the comeback album of the year but is more than interesting! It has great riffing, it’s powerful and it’s Metal! Isn’t that enough? \r\n \r\nDimitris Karantounias\r\n
