Redemption - This Mortal Coil

Redemption - This Mortal Coil

\r\nThe band’s Mastermind, Nicolas Van Dyk, dealed with a very serious health issue in 2008, when he was diagnosed with multiple myeloma by mistake. It seems that his adventure pretty much affected the new album of Redemption, “This Mortal Coil”.
\r\nIt’s more dark, rough and angry compared to their previous album, yet equally melodic, emotional and adventurous, which is something very common in Redemption. The word “quality” is a word that actually describes their music, which is impeccable in all levels. It’s perplexing, yet not obscure, less “catchy” this time, yet still “easy”, and each moment of it will just mesmerize you. In these eleven songs you might find all these elements that compose an album, which is nothing less than exceptional. Technical perfection, strong emotions, melody, passion, thunderous shredding, great production by the one and only Neil Kernor, imposing singing by the stunning voice of Ray Alder and, overall, marvellous music.
\r\nIt’s hard to spot out something in particular; everything is precious in this album, just relax and enjoy listening to it over and over again. It seems that 2011 is the year of Progressive Metal.
