Shakra - Everest

\r\nSwiss Shakra managed to overcome the bad luck after their previous singer, Peter Wiedmer,  had to leave the band due to such an unfair reason caused by a serious health problem he had. The rest of the band went against all these difficulties by taking Mark Fox to replace Peter and I think that it was the best possible choice. His job was not that easy as Peter’s replacement would be such a great thing to deal with, however the album “Everest” is a proof that he made it, actually in the best way. Melodic Hard Rock, but don’t run into conclusions concerning the whole thing. It’s not about silly lovestories here. Powerfull riffing, catchy choruses, drumming that will get you “high”, groovy rhythms and passionate vocals that make you want to sing along. Of course the classical-must balands could not be missing, yet in Shakra’s case have more to give that just a “tears of love” mood. We should also reffer to the very good job done on the production section which has given a Rock ‘N’ Roll tone in the whole album, while coloring it slightly sleazy.
\r\nWhat’s left is to grab a bit more of the media’s attention worldwide as it’s really sad when such bands remain in the dark and become “music only for the few ones”. \r\n
