Soulriver - The Dark Path of the Fallen Souls

Soulriver - The Dark Path of the Fallen Souls

\r\nThis is the first release for the Brazilian band, Soulriver, entitled “The Dark Path of the Fallen Souls”.  The band is referred on many sites as a Doom metal / Stoner Band, but after the hearing of the album these guys sound like a mix of classic heavy metal with many Nevermore / Iced Earth references and a more in your face riffing.
\r\nThere are many parts in the album that are close to a more progressive aesthetic with many good “cuts”, riffing and some good leads on the guitars. There are also some specific parts like “Sign of The Spawn” that the band play in a  lower tempo and with the help of the good production manage to sound doomer than the rest album. In the album there are also some atmospheric parts with clean tone guitars something that gives the album an personal identity/
\r\nIf the guys pay more attention to the vocal parts on the next release, then we would talk about a really very good album and this doesn’t mean that “The Dark Path of the Fallen Souls” isn’t a good album, but there are always some room for improvement.
