War from a Harlots Mouth - MMX

War from a Harlots Mouth - MMX

\r\nSometimes I get really pissed at bands that focus on their cool design merch, their haircuts, their multi-cloured tattoos and are nothing more than ignorants and lame posers that have nothing in common with the true spirit of extreme music. One becomes the replica of another and all the scene kids just follow. And now that I bitched like a bitch(!) I feel better, otherwise this review would be impossible.

\r\n WFAHM, thankfully, follow in another category as, despite their trendy looks, they feel of music with true identity and keep away from easy labeling. But just because I have to make a description of their art to the untrained listener/reader I’ll use the terms hardcore/jazz with a high experimental mood. This time the production levels have reached the golden point of perfection. You’re left speechless when the speakers unleash the ultra heavy sound of the guitars and the distorted bass. Excellent work 100%! The songs are clearly aimed at open minds with the tension to feel like lab rats in a maze. Executions are at high levels, also expressing their love for noisy vibes. The scent of post core is still here, as is their mood for anything extreme.

\r\n We even get jazzy pass-throughs holding the balance, lots of outbursts, even slower parts and generally a pleasant mess that allows their violent aura to penetrate your ear. I will surely not recommend this to a classic metal listener but I hope minds with a taste for bizzare forms will give it a chance. The german outfit offers a lot with MMX, more than others can even handle but the truth is their audience is kinda limited(remember their last gig in Greece?). I would suggest this one to the more open minded post core kid rather than the average "Up The Irons ya cants!" 30 year old redneck.\r\n
