AEGIRSON - Sons Of Etheria

There are times that I wonder in what standards some record companies sign some bands and what are their expectations of releasing such albums? This is all about the French metalers  Aegirson whose new album made me reconsider a few things about music taste. “Sons Of Etheria” is another mediocre release from another band that haven’t found yet its musical identity. Their company labels them as classic Heavy Metal, but I don’t think that the term describes their music. In fact I don’t think that any term describes what they’re trying to play. There are a lot of confused elements here, from power metal blasts to progressive rock melodies with the growling death vocals prevailing to the whole album. About the compositions now, besides some clever symphonic parts on the keys and some scattered ideas the whole album was very lame. No power, no nerve the band sounds like playing just for the sake of playing. There’s no sense of feeling in their performance. I have to mention that the band is not the only one responsible for the whole result as the production really sucks undertaking any good ideas.
\r\nUnfortunately I couldn’t find something interesting in this, maybe in the future they offer a better release.
