Destruction - Day Of Reckoning

Destruction - Day Of Reckoning

When we’re referring to bands like Destruction I think that pompous intros are simply meaningless. Some things are what we call constant values and as far as the German Thrash Metal is concerned, Destruction are not among the Unholy Trinity (along with Kreator and Sodom) by chance. They earned that place a long time ago. New album for the German Thrashers “Day Of Reckoning” continues the legacy of the awesome “D.E.V.O.L.U.T.I.O.N.” with even greater force.
\r\nI don’t think is anyone out there who’s waiting from Destruction to do something different than they do the last 25 years, there’s no room for experimentations here, there never was. What the band does here is delivering 11 powerful thrashing, neck breaking songs worthy of the legend that they have created around their name.
\r\nThrough 11 dynamites Destruction are unleashing a devastating thrash attack that leaves nothing standing. Songs like “Day Of Reckoning” and “Church Of Disgust” simply grab you by the neck reminding you how Thrash Metal should be played, In case you have forgotten! The production sounds awesome with the guitars being sharp and powerful just like the way they should be, Schmier spits his guts out with extreme hatred and spite (something obvious from the very first song!) while Vaaver’s arrival on the drum kit seems to have given the bad fresh blood to feed upon!
\r\nAdrenaline, nerve and in-your-face attitude. The main elements that define the genre, given at full speed from an uncompromised band that’s too proud to lower the flag of Thrash Metal, keeping it high for almost 3 decades, guarding it from mainstream sold outs and modern influences!
