Star One - Victims Of The Modern Age

\r\nThis is a great come-back for STAR ONE, which is the band of the very talented artist, Arjen Lucassen; "Victims of the Modern Age” is the successor of the band’s debut album, a band which consists of awesome musicians. Musically, it ‘s based on the same patterns as the first one, but the atmosphere is darker and heavier, overall.
\r\nThe spacey sounds that feature the songs, the pompous melodies and the imposing vocals create all together a fantastic, high quality piece of work; well, this is pretty common for Lucassen, anyway, and it has to do both with the compositions and the musicians he chooses each time to join the band.
\r\nEven though the album is progressive metal- oriented, the songs are based very much on classic metal; in fact, I dare to say that on some spots, especially the “darkest” ones, there’s the Black Sabbath feeling from the Tony Martin era (for instance, the song”24 hours”). Well, maybe this is not a coincidence, taking under consideration the guest list of the bonus cd: Mike Andersson, Rodney Blaze and the magnificent Tony Martin.
\r\nThe journey has just begun and it’s thrilling! Just sit comfortably and enjoy it..
